Benidorm Palace is closed, but the show will go on once Spain is safe again!
Noticias · 11/11/2020

Recently, the management team of Benidorm Palace took the difficult decision to close its doors for the second time this year, despite the success of its new look Aqua Show. While the team behind the show were keen to keep the spirits up for its audiences, practically, the show needed to come off rather than go on – at least for a while, until life returns to something approaching normality again. This means there will need to be a sustained reduction in infection rates from Covid-19, and a substantial lifting of movement restrictions in Alicante province and Valencia community before the venue can consider opening for business again.

Staging a spectacular show involves a huge investment in staff and costumes, and with reduced audience capacity, plus the possibility of a second enforced lockdown, the management feel the best way to ensure the continuing success of Spain’s best entertainment venue is to close voluntarily, in a controlled, responsible manner. The recent imposition of a curfew in an effort to help halt the spread of Covid-19 hasn’t helped, because it makes it very difficult to present a relaxed evening of food and entertainment when everyone is aware the clock is ticking away. Also, with increasing restrictions on movement in various municipalities in Valencia region and neighbouring communities and reduced occupancy in venues, potential audience size is significantly impacted.

Taking all these measures into consideration, reluctantly, Benidorm Palace has dimmed its lights for now. However, entertainment people are positive people, and the venue is busy making plans for the future. The ‘Magic of Motown’ show has been postponed until May 23, 2021, when ticket holders will be able to enjoy both a matinee and evening performance, with an optional meal for a small extra cost.

The management of Benidorm Palace will use the time to implement improvements to increase audience enjoyment, and to assist the local community in keeping everyone safe. Benidorm Palace is not just an entertainment venue – it’s a well-established family business that has been at the heart of Benidorm society for many years. When it reopens, look out for more special offers and collaborations with local businesses, such as the ‘Show and Stay’ partnership with local hotels.

Once we are free from the threat of infection from Covid-19, we’ll all be in the mood for celebration, and what better way to forget your troubles than a night of first class entertainment with good food, at Benidorm’s iconic cabaret destination? Look out for the latest news and developments on their social media platforms and website, and subscribe to their newsletter for information on re-opening and rearranged special shows. And you can remind yourself of their stunning shows by subscribing to their YouTube Channel, where you can view excerpts from ‘Aqua’ and other productions.

It may seem that the current crisis is with us to stay, but we will get through this, with patience and understanding. And when Spain is safe again, prepare for the party of the century at Benidorm Palace, when the curtain rises again on the spectacular Aqua Show.
